On September 27, 2024, the All-Ukrainian communication campaign “Together We Learn & Grow. The EU and Ukraine creating a common European future” was launched. It is geared to raise awareness of the European Union’s support for Ukrainian education and youth in times of war.
The campaign’s kick-off took place on September 26-29, 2024, as part of the Book Country Festival (Knyzhkova Krayina) at the Expo Centre of Ukraine (VDNG), where the Together We Learn & Grow space welcomed its visitors. The EU-funded projects presented their programmes and achievements in the themed tents called the Opportunity Space and the Lecture Hall.
The “Updated Informatics – IT Studios” project joined the Opportunity Space with its stand, attracting schoolchildren, their parents, and teachers, and also presenting its latest results at the Lecture Hall. Around 14,000 children and adults visited the Educational Space during its four-day run.
The Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine, together with partners within the framework of the EU4DigitalUA project, conducted research based on the results of the 2023-2024 academic year to find out how it was possible to help teachers modernise the teaching of informatics and adapt the educational process to the modern needs of students. According to the results, 86.7% of the teachers surveyed actively integrate the platform into the classroom, making it an additional resource. More than 72% of teachers consider the platform to be a successful supplement to textbooks. Moreover, 92.8% of respondents rated the platform’s navigation as very good.
IT Studios offer interactive exercises, practical tasks, and modern digital skills training. On the platform, schoolchildren can master different skills ranging from digital literacy, and media creativity to computational thinking and programming.
The project is implemented at the initiative of the Ministry of Digital Transformation of Ukraine and the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine within the framework of the EU4DigitalUA program which is financed by the European Union and implemented by the International and Ibero-American Foundation for Administration and Public Policies (FIIAPP) within the framework of the second component “Institutional strengthening and capacity development”.
