The European Union will further support the capacity building of public authorities in the field of digital transformation of Ukraine. This became possible thanks to the concluded Memorandum between the Administration of the State Service of Special Communication and Information Protection of Ukraine (the “SSSCIP”) and the EU4DigitalUA project, which was signed today in Kyiv.
The provisions of the memorandum will allow the state body to carry out more effective cooperation on the way to the implementation of the “road map” actions for integration into the EU digital single market. In addition, the partnership envisages the development of synergy in cooperation and the provision of expert support in terms of amending legislation in the field of IT procurement and trust services.
“Development of the main indicators of implementing the provisions of the NIS directives, EU Cybersecurity Act, as well as other acts of European legislation in the field of cybersecurity will increase the protection of Ukrainians and domestic enterprises from cyber attacks. Also, the signing of the memorandum will allow development of new standards taking into account modern requirements for information security systems,” – stated Dmytro Makovsky, First Deputy Chairman of the SSSCIP.
Cooperation between the SSSCIP and European Union experts will develop the institutional capacity of central executive bodies in the field of critical infrastructure identification and its protection. Also, the signing of the memorandum lays the foundation for the development of human potential of civil servants through the expected training to improve professional skills, as well as events that will facilitate the exchange of experience, involving European institutions.
